I do a podcast on motorcycles and have bought some equipment to do it with. I have an Alesis 3630 compressor (I know, not the fave of most of you on here but surely good enough for a podcast right?) and a Behringer Xenyx 1202 mixer.

I have only have one mic plugged up and lines going into the computer for Soundboard and Skype purposes along with an iPod hooked in for some intro music. I record everything into a Tascam DR-07. My question is two fold.

One...can I hook up this compressor even though I do not have insert points on the 1202 like most of the hook up diagrams I have seen? Two...I want the whole mix to recieve the same processing. How do I do this?

Thanks for any help anyone is willing to provide.

I do a podcast on motorcycles. . .

One at a time I hope. . . and please wear a helmet. . Broadcasting is dangerous enough in a van.

But to state the other obvious point, to effect all the sources, your sources would have to be summed at the mixer, then through a compressor. I assume the mixer has main outs, or stereo outs of some kind. .

The Xenyx 1202 has no inserts, but you could put the compressor on the output of the mixer and compress the whole mix.

If you aren't netcasting it live you might be better off compressing it after recording.
