Helllo. I am probably going to buy a new sound card for home recording. I use various programs such as Vegas, Soundforge, and CoolEdit but will probably eventually be exclusively working in Cubase if I can get a decent ASIO setup to work. I currently record Guitar, drums, and bass through a mixer into the line in on my sound blaster live. I just bought a M-Audio Radium 49 and will be using it as well for MIDI/VST recording. It has a USB connect so I don't even really need a MIDI in on the sound card.

Can anyone reccomend a good sound card that has ASIO drivers? It has to be as inexpensive as possible as I don't have a lot of money at all. In fact, it is a miracle I've managed to piece together what I have because I'm so broke. All I really need is a left/right input and a stereo output on the sound card.

Thanks

Check out the M-Audio Audiophile 24/96 for around $100, good ASIO drivers, 2 ins and 2 outs it also has midi and spdif

You may also want to check out a used Echo Gina or Mia card. Guitar Center was blowing out Mia's for like $75.00 recently. Echo cards are highly regarded for their A/D converters. I have an older Gina 20 bit card and it's never given me the slightest problem.
