IndieSessions course and evaluation

Hi,

I just read about a thing called Indiesessions that is put on by universal music. you pay 99 dollars and they gurantee that an a&r guy will listen to your demo and give you written feedback. and they give you a free cd-rom about breaking into the industry. has anyone one of you heard such a thing? if so, is it legit? any info would be useful.

Well Universal Music is certainly a big player in the music industry...... I have heard of pletny of people doing these types of programs...... However, I won't give you advice on what career path to choose.....but I personally have a problem wit payin someone any amount of money to listen to my music......especially a major recording label......

I am defintely against these kind of manners. I pay nobody to listen to my music, not even a big label. Thin of it: what garantee do you think you have? Exactely, nothing. I think it's a sad, sad policy.

It's probably a scam, you want to know why? ALWAYS be aware of "Pay shitloads of bucks and receive a FREE...." It's not free! You paid for it, and way to much too. I mean, A&R guys get paid by the record company for listening to music, not by the musicians.

But on the other hand, it could be. I'm not saying that this particular deal is a scam, maybe you pay US 99,- and become really famous. You never know, but MOST of these programs are scams. You be the judge.
