Working on a few mix ideas for this tune. Time I got a few opinions on the mix before I do any more. Let me know what you think...
See the attached 192 MP3 file called In My Heart.
Really dig the vox, hear a lot of Clapton in there...
I'd like the guitars up some.. I have a three year old who tends to climb under my desk and crank the sub so that could be the problem.. but on my system the bass guitar seems pretty hot, overpowers everything else at times.
Good song, great vox, nice guitar work too. can't wait to hear the finished product.
Sounding pretty good, man. On the initial listen, I'm thinking that the whole thing could use a bit more reverb. Not quite sure why, and it might be my sleeplessness that's talkin', but other than that, it sounds great, man!
Download yo downunder took less than 2 mins.
The bass notes that hit when you play the chord on the keys gets a bit mushy as the two combine. A bit of compression might make it sound tighter.
I'm not a great fan of the effected guitar. I like the thing it plays but not the sound.
Great song.
Sounded generally pretty good. Vocals are nice and clear.
I thought the bass was pretty rumbly. Some stuff going on in the low end that I think needs to be cleaned up.
Liked the lead guitar tone.
Rhythm guitar sounds a little muffled. Missing some high mids - like in the 7K to 10K range or so.
You could probably get away with compressing the lead vocal (or compressing it harder, if you already are). Words here and there get lost in the instruments.
Nice - clean and tight. Good sounding song - good song / chord changes. Mix sounded good to me - but I think TripleM hit any questionable issues. But overall, thumbs up here. (I also get that Clapton feel... cool!)
Thanks guys for all your pointers - all really helpful. I get so used to hearing things over and over and lose track of the issues sometimes.
Back to work....
I clicked on your link? The song loaded up in like 9 seconds for me?
Anyway, how're you doin' ido? This sounds pretty good to me with the exception of the bass. Not too loud for me, just not defined enough...kind of rumbly as someone already said.
I like where the guitars sit in this one. It's a little more subtle as I personally tended to find the strumming guitar parts a little loud in some of your previous mixes. Your voice sounds as good as always to me. Nice clean solo there. Well done!
Thanks for the comments - I have a pretty hard time with bass tracks as you can tell. I keep working on them though... I'm sorry that some of you have trouble with the download - this site is finnicky that way.
