Does anybody know of a website/ YouTube reference that gives someone some hints on improving their voice recordings?

If someone challenged you to take Roseanne’s infamous National Anthem attempt and redo it,
What would you do (you can’t dump Roseanne, you are stuck with her, so deal with it. ) :laughings:

Would you make her warm up? How?

How would you auto tune her?

What effects if any would you add to make her voice sound more tolerable ?

Thanks.

I don't think Roseanne was serious about singing so it was a guaranteed flop to begin with. You need to start with some god given talent, desire to do a good job, practice, then you might sing it properly. She had none of these traits. It was just a comedy routine for her.

Fair enough, lets assume I have the last two of the three. where do you start?

thanks

I'm of the school that believes you have to be born with it. You can take lessons or practice with CD's to improve what you're given.

:D

I agree, but I was hoping you would blow a little sunshine up my butt.. :D

seriously, if you have any links that can improve your signing I would love to see them.

thanks

I have worked my butt of since I was about 13 trying to be a good singer. Over the years there have been some improvements but I still suck. I have 2 friends that are excellent singers. They were born with it and I wasn't. Damn luck of the draw.

A small but important part is good ears and the ability to know when you're off key so you can improve those sections.

There's no magic online lessons. Seek out a qualified voice teacher.

i think anyone can be a good singer. you can train your ear and train your voice put in the work and like anything, you will improve a great deal.

ultimately, "being a good singer" is a subjective quality. not everyone will like your singing no matter who you are so don't worry about what others think.

Seems with all the American Idol wantabees out there that someone would be pushing a series of DVDs or something titled "How to sing better" or something.
