I finally made my low end sound alot better with the compression on the VS880. Thanks guys. Now, I have a different sort of problem. I have read the manual several times, but I don't understand how to record a track with FX to free up the processor. Can anyone hold my hand through it? Thanks.

To free up the processor, after a bounce with the effect inserted, you must un-insert that effect to make other effects available for use. You can use a maximum of two inserted effects on every track. The maximum is reduced to 1 effect when you are using MTK effcets, witch are the Mastering TracKs effects.
When you decide to use another effect you have to un-insert it from where you inserted it. Another way to listen to effects, is by sending them as a Post- or Pre effect to the track you like. "Pre" will let you hear only the eaffected signal. "Post" will let you hear a mix of the clean track + the PRE effect in the MIXER mode.
This way the effect will not be burned to your track. You can change it any time you want, because the track is recorded dry.
Hope this is an answer to what you asked.

Thank you for your reply. Actually, I was more concerned about the process of recording FX to a track. Once it is recorded, I want to change the FX for the next track. How do I insert an effect on a track?

The output of the effects is sent to the master mix out. Route this to the tracks you want. Only that. If you set the verb or effects send to pre, you turn down the main track and voila. Only the effects goes to the main mix out which is routed to tracks ? and ?

And this will allow recording of FX onto the tracks and allowing me to pick a different set of FX for different tracks? Sorry, I am really confused after reading that damned manual.

It will free up your effects because they were recorded to tracks. You play them back like normal audio tracks. Then the effects will be used for other things.
