I have an extra chromosome.

Wow, you're really all over the place there, buddy. I'm not sure if I can take your questions seriously. You don't know what a microphone is, but you have Nuendo? You worked hard to save up $75? You have no idea how to record or mix and you want someone to teach you mastering? Methinks someone is having a little fun tonight. Good luck to you.

Ok, a microphone is, what you refer to as a 'Mick'. Most commonly looks like a cylindular metal object with a grill on the front. The 'Kable' connects to the bottom end and you speak into the grill (top end).

Mp3 is not the best quality. However, Nuendo will be able to save as a .wav file which can be burnt through your CD burner.

You dont 'need' monitors, but they are a good thing to have if you can afford them. With $75 of your hard earnt cash though, i doubt you will be able to get any.

A soundcard is a small magical device which can either be internal or external of your computer. These are used for audio work as they process the audio to a much more higher quality.

How to master you say? Well.. Mastering is quite simple.. Put your CD in an envelope along with your $75 and send it to your local studio where they will master it. Unless you can increase that 36 minutes to at least an hour, i dont think you will be able to do it yourself.

Good luck with the Ghetto Linguist and i hope to hear you on the radio soon. :D

OK, now this one is funny..... :p

But it begs the question - is Mosfet/walters/Ford Van/etc/ad nauseum in reality DJL??????!!!!!!!!!

If so, that would make it most ironic and embarassing for him to have started the.....

Never mind, I have said too much.

thank you for posting this... and i thought i was a newbie...

a mic is this thing that is like an ear. it listens to you. the cable is like the ear passage. it carries what it hears to the brain. the soundcard is the brain,(yep you guessed it!) the brain analyzes what the ear hears, and understands it. Your computer is your memory. it remembers what the ear heard.

ok dude, it is possible to make your 75 bucks work, but its not going to sound too pretty. best bet is to go work a little more. for any decent sound, you need a minimum of 300 bucks, and thats really the bare minimum.

i just want to encourage you to stick with it! work hard and save your money. you made my day, i feel so smart now.

Wonder if this is that little kid we had a couple nights ago posting all those pleasant pictures???

Donkey Dick Ninja?

:D

Man, this is some of your best stuff.

Remember, we Ninja do not follow the same boshido code as the samuraii do. There is no honor for us who "steal from within"! Your Shidoshi should have taught you this...

A microphone is like the handle on a Ninja-To, except you sing into it and it has a wire that goes to an amp instead of a blade for opening up someones guts. Or one handle of the naunchaku. Then someone more skilled sings the next song and humiliates you. You must then defend your honor and fight them to the death! It is tradition!

Can he sing into it? Shur-i-kan!

Where did I set my beer???

I'm glad he spelled THAT correctly!

It's too close, I think he should have said "rapper".....judging from the question, I'd say he needs a lot more experience before hs tries an Artist label like "rappist"....

I was briefly tempted to think it was basementtracks posing......but apparently he got banned.

There really is a book out there called "Home Recording for Dummies." And it really is worth reading for someone in your position. No, that's not an insult, that is really the name of the book..... but you'll need to use $20 of your $75 to get it.

Oooooh! So you want a mic that doubles as a defensive weapon? Try an RE20....

I do hope you have a job that taps into your creativity

because I'm beginning to think you're wasting it here.

Mad, I don't think it would be DJL, because he didn't mention you-know-who.

But wait, that would make it too obvious, wouldn't it? Hmmm....

Great stuff, anyway, if a little over the top, but I'm an over the top kinda guy. ;)

I didn't title the book. ask the publisher why they are calling people dummies.

If you really are not Ford Van or Mosfet, and you really want to learn the basics, that book is the quickest way.....
