Cool thread. I use 2 different room mics for drums and get very good results. I do go a bit overboard I guess when it comes to drums but I get nice tones/imaging and every drummer has dug the results.

Kick D112
Kick (homemade sub mic) (edited to be phase accurate)
Snare 57 Top
Snare 57 Bottom (phased)
Snare shell Oktava LD 1 foot away
Cad or 57's on Toms
LD Cad on Floor
MK-012's on Hat and Ride OR Spaced Overhead pointing at hat and ride, also only a foot or two above the hat/ride
Neuamann TLM 103 out front aprox 70 inches from snare center
Rode NT2 out front aprox 70 inches from snare center and 70" from TLM 103.

The snare goes thru a Neve and the rooms somtimes go thru a Drawmer 1960 tube pre/comp. All others thru a Allen & Heath mixer. I have a good sounding room and get good results. You can see a pic on my webpage. Sometimes I'll deaden more around the kit if thats the sound or move to the dry room for a really dead sound.

Long Post, point is TWO differnt Room mics for me = good results, never had anyone complain. I'd be happy to hear any suggestions/comments on my techniques.
