Cosidering on buying an iMac 21.5" 3.06 ghz 4 gig ram 500 gig hard drive. My question is does anyone know if apple can and would upgrade that hard drive to 1 terabyte down the line in the future if need be?

You can do it yourself for really cheap and easy, but for recording you should record to a different drive. like a fw800 7200rpm 1tb drive. LaCie makes some nice ones.
