Here is a new one I'm working on....it's pretty rough right now, I wanted to try having a tempo change in my music for once, as most of my originals kinda plod along at the same speed ....the drums are pretty silly on this right now....still searching for the right beats...just wondering howz its sounding so far.

The mix is very good, but i don't like the guitar sound, it lacks of warm, but maybe for the style is good, well it's just my thought, the drums sound it's as you said, they sound good, but are too simple. I liked the bass sound.

Overall is a very good mix.

That was pretty darn cool. Love the tempo change, and don't find too much wrong at all with the drums. Very nice. A+ mix.

This is so cool Queep. The style kinda takes me back to David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust period, must be your voice. Totally freaky, I love it! Original as always it's just...Queepy!:D
I thought the mix sounded damn good and the change in the middle is an eye-opener. You're a credit to this site, seriously.

Two words "Balls Deluxe"

The mix is great. Performance is great. I love the groove and feel of the main parts but for what its worth I didn't care for the double time bit - it sounded like a something you would here as Benny Hill is running at high speed. Then again, I am not known for having good taste, so that's likely a good thing.

You know Queepy, I'd like the fast breakdown as the meat of the song, and switch to the slow groove part in the middle. It's a little monotonous as it is right now. The mix seems a little thin on my set up. I think the guitars could be meatier.

Yeah, I did try for a more "metallic/harsh" guitar tone on this...today i added another guitar track with my strat trying to fatten/warm up the overall guitar vibe a bit, link at top of the thread plays the new mix...drums are pretty lame to me, gonna work on them this afternoon.....thanks for listening, appreciate the feedback!

Thanks Adam...that tempo change is pretty fun I think...really contrast with the rest of the tune...added some sound s to it today, as well as a new guitar solo track...I had used my firebird for it yesterday, but tried my Strat today and I think it cuts thru a little better as well as having whammy bar possibilities :p! Those drums...ech...I think I could do better...gonna work on them....

Joey

Hey Joey, thanks a lot for the kind words man....I only wish I was as good at giving feedback/advice as others are on here...I'm more of a "feel" guy as opposed to being real technical with this stuff....Anyways, I dig the Bowie comparison...his glam/Spiders period was a huge influence on me...
Thanks again bud!

"Balls Deluxe" :D...that would be a good song title I think :p...Huge Benny Hill fan so I will take that comparison with a :D.....was trying for a complete 360 from the main vibe of the tune with that part....I'm sure it's not for everybody :D....Thanks for checking it!

Hey Greg....that's a interesting idea...I was kinda going for the relentless, repetition to the point of "I can't take it" vibe on the main part of the song, which would make the middle fast part be kind of a release.... I did some lo-mid eq scooping on the mix 1st time around that I think hollowed out the overall mix...on my latest, besides adding a warmer guitar track, I didn't cut as much......thanks for the feedback!

That's a great recording. All around. Performance, arrangement, sounds, mix, master. How the **** do you do that!!??

And how can I make my soundclick links open automatically like yours? :^)

Hey,

I like the sound in general and I also did the time change. The children's voices on the way in to that section is a very cool effect. I feel like that sped section is about twice as long as it should be, though. I think if you cut that shorter it would make it much tighter all around.

Ha ha, yeah the kids effect made me turn around to see what the hell my kids were doing!!!!

Great song. Very original. Love the transitions.

I'm not crazy about the reverb. Maybe it's too much, maybe a delay+reverb might work better. But, eh, that's just nitpicking.

love the song.

Queeps - my only nit is that I think you should find and use a circluar drumming pattern for the fast section to avoid the oompah/Benny Hill feel of the snare.
Good work!

The first mix had a reverb on the vocal that I thought wasn't really working but the second mix's vocal reverb is cool! Don't know if you changed it or just tweaked it but it works. The guitars are much warmer now and overall this song is pretty cool. Right on...

Whoops, bud ...

Where did you hide the bass?

The mix is upper mid heavy ... lacking freq balance in the low end ... like the mix is holding it's nose.

I'm not a huge fan of the left side vocal, it sounds like it's coming from behind the curtain stage left ... like the Wizard of Oz is the lead singer.

Cool material, good arrangement.

Mix needs more beef.
