Line 6 is no different then anything else. It takes a bit of work and a bit of ear play.

One tip is not to use the presets. im not overly familiar with the UX2 but i do have a pod product and bascically i always start with an empty user slot and build it like i would an amp until i get something im stoked on...

which pisses me off casue i continually keep getting stoked when i twaek this or that with my 'rig' and i gotta retrack everything.

Part of your problem that i am reading is your wanting to re-create someone elses sound which can seldom be done. you could probably get close with a bit of playing around but you won't ever hit it right on the head.

I'll take that as a "you don't believe what I'm saying". I can accept that. Nothing to prove over here!
no ..... I believe you just fine.
No reason to doubt you at all.
I'm just not sure what connection it had to the subject at hand or how I'm supposed to reply.
It's nice that you know such people but why would I care?

And if you know him why wouldn't you have just asked him in the first place? He could help you better than anyone here.
Personally, I'm only interested in 'name' players if it can get me a job ....... otherwise it's not something I care about much.
I'm just not particularly celebrity driven.

the thing is .... you could play thru keith Urbans actual rig and you still would need to tweak it to get it to sound like him.
Good rigs react to the players picking style and simply wouldn't sound the same way for you as they do for another player.

Actually, I said that because I thought it was a perfect connection. Who better to ask about a certain rig, right? I never said Danny was immediately accessible, because he's certainly not. I can email him, and I'll get a shout out in about two weeks or so... But we are getting off the subject. I know that just because I know people in the biz does not put me in the same "class", and I do not pretend for it to be so. I have a little studio I built myself in a backwoods part of NW Florida, with two kids and a wife, scratching a living as a public servant while I try to make a go of this thing. And Danny DOES make me money. Folks love to know a band member of a "big name" is playing on their album, and you should know LT, they'll pay well for it assuming they can. And I push his and other folk's names in the biz ALOT, because the client can buy a commercial CD and see that name in the credits, and it gives them bragging rights to their family and friend fans. C'mon LT man! We all love music first, but isn't it about the money we earn after we've put our hard earned dollars into all this equipment?! It certainly is for me! I want some return after piecing this thing together over the course of a decade!

sure ....... playing music is the only way I've earned a living for 40+ years. Never did anything else ...... never took time off to raise a family .... none of that.

But you're not gonna add money to your pocket by mentioning names around here ...... none of us losers have any money plus we all have our own studios. :D
Still, if it's a habit you've gotten into because of the reasons you stated, I guess it's gonna come up anywhere you go.

Shall I do some name dropping for him Bob...:laughings:

Somehow I believe this conversation has taken a turn for the worst.

I keep company with musicians who are successful, or who want to be successful in the industry. Its positive. It feels good. They give my studio new life it wouldn't have otherwise. I will ALWAYS pitch big names to my clients. As a business practice, it has about a 1 in 3 hit ratio. It nets me more money, but most importantly, they get world class talent on a local recording they are proud of. I have not tried to make money off this forum- this was an honest attempt to see what regular folks are using in their studios to get from point A to B. Read my posts- 95% of them are questions. Not because I don't have anything to contribute, but someone has usually answered a newbie's question's and I seldom feel the need to follow up. There are a lot of knowledgeable people in this forum, including you Lt- and that's the reason I've come here in the past with my honest questions and intent. This site helped me build my studio. This site helped me outfit it. Because of this, I have been willing to overlook sarcasm and condescension. I even poked fun at myself by adding the poll options I did. I feel like I've been a pretty good sport through it all.

Its obvious you took what I said completely the wrong way. You understood me to be boastful, and that was so not my intent- so I want to apologize to anyone I might have offended. I figured a typical response would be "I would be interested to know what Keith uses too" or maybe "What the hellza bazouki?"

With that said I believe I've met every objection you've thrown at me. I have the information I sought. Thread closed.
