How do I record a new track without the other tracks being recorded with it? I'm using a (newly aquired) delta 66 omni and sonar 2.

Thank you for your replies. This is really got me perplexed.

Andrew.

In Sonar, each track has a "record" button. You need to choose the source for recording for each track, then click on the record button before recording. Tracks that do not have their record button active will be playing back. Its OK if tracks that are not recording are still assigned to the same place for record input as the one you are actually using.

I run my martin acoustic guitar straight into the front side of my delta Omni (input #1) to back up a rythym guitar track.

What I want to hear is the playback of the music (tracks not being recorded on) and the recording guitar through the headphones.

The problem is that it records the playback tracks again along with the guitar on the same track. You know it is too because the track lights mirror eachother in the console mode.

Anything else in the set up that is need to know information? Thanks again.
