im so new and just need help please!

ok so im getting into recording my music, mainly just an acoustic guitar and my vocals and i dont know all the things i need to get it done haha

so i have a computer software and a mic but im just wondering what else i need ive heard talk about pre amps and condensers and moniters etc, just a list of things would be greatly appreciated!

Just start out with what you've got. You've stated that you have a guitar, mic, and software. Do you have a means of connecting your mic? We will need to know what kind of software if you don't. Basically, if you have everything connected and are able to get sound onto your pc just go from there. Experiment with what sounds good and then if you run into any problems post them here and we can help you. There is no need to buy preamps and such if you don't even know how they will be used. Use what you have and make sure you like recording first.

well i bought this like bundle pack about a year ago and never used it but its all m-audio stuff like a mic, a usb audio interface i plug the mic into and these two monitors and i got a version of ableton live with it called live lite

Sounds like you've got everything you need to get started. You do have moniors to listen through then? Man if you can work it all then record some stuff and go from there. You should be able to get acceptable recordings with this gear and you can always upgrade later. Is this perhaps the protools mpowered bundle? Anyway post some stuff you record here and people can give suggestions to help you decide what would benefit you the most for upgrading your setup.
