... for the next ten days, anyway. Heading to the NAMM show. Try to play nice without me till I get back. I'll try and check out all the new goodies (and maybe get a sneak peek at the new SPA mic, but it'll be up to Alan and Tony as to how much I can mention here).

I'm heading out, by car, around 7 am tomorrow morning.

Cya all when I get back.

Have fun, I dont think you'll be missing much around here (other than a few squabbles). Hopefully you'll get enough valid information on the SPA mic. Can't wait!

Damn.
See... I need to get my studio finished so I can start making music again, and start recording people, and charge for it (even a little bit) so I can start going to NAMM and write it off!!
:(

Have a blast, Harvey.

I only got into the NAMM show one time while I was in CA, in 1992. I did electrical for a bunch of the booths there.

Usually they send the guys from the hall home during the show, and they come back for the tearout. Greyhound usually had enough shop guys to cover stuff during the show. But I got to spend one day there during the show........... I saw David Hidalgo from Los Lobos checking out some percussion stuff at a booth and just had to walk up and tell him how much I dug his music.

My only face-to-face with bigtime Rock-N-Roll!

I'll have to look you up. . . I'll be there on the 17th only.

8 hours, just long enough to walk briskly through and glance at each booth. :( ;)

You're not like one of those dark, creepy psychotic fans, are you? Oh well, I suppose Los Lobos would be honored to have a psycho fan or two.

I'll second that!

Actually, it took a minute or two for me to work up the nerve to approach Hidalgo. I figured he's a busy guy that doesn't wanna be bugged by some wanna-be guitar player.

But he was really nice. He said "Thanks."

Briskly? Try a real fast run to cover the whole show in one day. I think there's 1,200 exhibitors, covering God knows how many acres. But if you see me, stop me and let's talk.

Hi Harvey

Drive safely & we'll all be watching for any on-site reporting. Wish I could be there with ya'll.:)
