I'm not seeing Signal Activity in Real Time

I just see the index tracer moving to the right, but the background remains blank. After I stop recoding the signal levels populate. Is there anything I can change to veiw levels in real time?

Are you talking about recording midi in Reaper?

When recording audio, Reaper shows you what is being recorded as it is being recorded.

However, I've not been able to figure out how to get Reaper to do this for midi.

Although faintly annoying, it doesn't hinder me in any way.

Nope, not midi. Recording audio (guitar and amp).

Check Options/ Preferences/ Appearance/ Peaks-Waveforms to see if "Display while recording"(at the top) is toggled on.

Must have done the trick and he is busily recording, seeing it in real-time.
