King Of The 80s
I recently upgraded from CUBASE SX3 into CUBASE 5 and imported all my current projects into it, which went fine no problems, but now for some unexplained reason when I go to record a new track, i not only get my instrument but all the other tracks recorded into it as well!

My soundcard is a Audigy2 ZS and i'm using ASIO4ALL to fix the latency

There are inputs all over my sound card (it has the breakout box) two out the front and some at the back - when I was using SX3 I would just select what input I wanted to use for recording by going into devices / VST connections and then select which port i happen to be connecting to in the device port menu in the input tab.

At the moment it's saying that my audio device is ASIO4ALL!?! (shouldn't that be my actual soundcard!?!) and the only connection options i have in the device port menu is just a generic "L" (left) or "R" (right) and then the name of my Soundcard next to it for example:

Audigy2 ZS [9000] 1 [stereo-in left]
Audigy2 ZS [9000] 2 [stereo-in right]

Before it would give me the choice of LINE/MIC IN 1, LINE IN 2, LINE IN 3 etc (all the inputs on my soundcard) - could this be that CUBASE doesn't recognize my soundcard or is there a setting that I was using before which I have forgotten to set up in CUBASE 5?!!!? i've installed the latest drivers for it but still nothing. EVERYTHING bleeds into my recorded track when i lay it down?! I'm well confused!

Ha! fixed it myself - it's all about the buses!!!! when importing old projects, for some reason, Cubase 5 likes to reset all the input and output buses to default settings - you have to go in and set them up again. I can't believe I didn't notice this before!! back in business ;)
