Right out of the box, 2 out of three work perfectly. Here's the down and dirty proof--no tweaking, playing with placement, etc (that's to come!). Just slapped the mic in front of the amp and wanked a bit:
Now let's hope I can use the working mics as exemplars to help me determine what's wrong with the broken one.
But even if I don't get that working, I still got two MD421's for under $100. I'm okay with that.
Wife: What's in the box?
Me: 3 new mics. Well, 3 old mics.
Wife: Why? Don't you have enough mics?
Me: Well yeah, but not this particular model.
Wife: Gawd, those are beat up. Do they work?
Me: I don't know.
Wife: (This is the silence of the broken mic.)
Let me finally guess that the problem is that it has duct tape holding on the windscreen.
