ametth was nice enough to send up his tracks to me for the song "Blatchford" so I could play around with them. After a little "to-do", I got them transferred from CDR to the HD24 and got busy.



I think ametth might post a link to his original mix at some point, but who's knows with that joker! ;)

I normally would have spent some time doing some clean up editing, and some creative stuff if he would have been PAYING me to mix this...:), but I decided to use the tracks as is to see what could be done. Enjoy!

P.S. Forgot to add that this song is a 10mb download. I encoded at 320kbs so ametth could convert it back to .wav and not lose too much. So, you dial up slowmo people (like me!) beware! Imagine how freakin' long it took ME to upload it!!! :(

This version is sounding super good though. Everything is clean and present. The drums sound killer too. I can only attribute this to good tracking and mixing

Just wanna add that the vocals seem a little harsh to me. Did you de-ess them at all?

oh yeah..if anyone else would be interetsed in mixng this...I would love to hear some other peoples take on the song. Also, if you do go to the mp3 page...listen to the blatchford 'remix' too...
 
Dang I dont know which one I prefer. THe tracking is awesome though.

the remix is phat too.
 
Sounds really good, what kind of instrument is it at beginning, left speaker, you hear it best approx 01:53 it´s sound like something from the orient´s

Both tracks are cool

Both mixes are great as said before but there is more of a presence in the remix that does bring it closer in a surround sound environment.
