As much as I was looking for an EL34 amp...today I ended up getting a Dr. Z Prescription Extra Strength 112 combo, which is an EL84-based amp...
I was really NOT going to go for an EL84 amp this time...but I just couldn't pass up the deal. It's got a Celestion Gold, OD footswitch, factory installed Master Volume (doesn't normally come with it)...and a Rock Hard road case w/casters.
So...I still ended up with a pair of Dr. Z amps. The Rx ES and my Rt 66 should complement each other nicely.
I guess I'll have to get the EL34 amp next time around.
With the Savage Macht 12X I picked up a week ago and now this Dr. Z Rx ES together, they will give me a lot of new tones...they didn't cost me all that much, considering what they each normally go for.
I think this should quench my GAS for awhile...but it's a sickness...a disease....
6505+ amazing gain channels, pretty decent cleans, and a crunch channel as well. 120 watts, loudest beast you'll ever hear. V30's are the nicest speakers with this.
Its only $1,200 new with a footswitch, used I got mine for 550 with a bias mod.
If you don't want that heavy, hit up a 50 watt rockerverb. I freaking love those amps.
