One Hit Wonder
I got this e-mail from Cakewalk today. You can upgrade to Sonar 4.0 Producer, and get it a free upgrade to Sonar 5.0 Producer when it comes out. That's not a bad deal.

I'm still on Sonar 3.0 and would take advantage of this if it were Sonar Studio rather than Producer. I am not interested in Producer, but I would upgrade to 4.0 Studio (at the normal upgrade price) if an upgrade to Sonar 5.0 Studio was thrown in. Otherwise, I'll probably just wait for 5.0 to be released.

02. Free upgrade to next version of SONAR

Cakewalk is running a special one-time promotion from August 16th through August 30th. Buy SONAR 4 Producer Edition, and get a free upgrade to the next version of SONAR Producer.

We can't say much about the new version of SONAR Producer except that it will be coming out later this year, and it is going to be a huge upgrade. While you wait for the announcement, get acquainted with the new workflow in SONAR 4 Producer Edition. You have nothing to lose and so much to gain. You do not need to fill out any redemption forms either. We have a record of your purchase and will send you the upgrade once it is in stock. You also get free shipping* during this special promotion. All customers in the pricing matrix below are eligible for the free upgrade.

Mike, I had more screwdrivers than I had screws to turn with 2.0 to 2.2 . I gots 4pe now. I think my upgrading is not gonna become a real neccesity for at least another couple of decades. Maybe by then I can get a bionicsuperminidvdburner/sequencer slot with onchip software that installs in just behind the ear for recording musical thought or something :)

I agree on the studio vs producer thing. I don`t fool with video or surround.

I'm still waiting for the version that will write the songs, sing the vocal parts, play the lead guitar, and mix all the shit together.

Then I can just sit back and drink, which I've lately come to realize is all I'm really good at. :)

heehee, they`ll probably be offering brain upgrades by then.

I'm considering burying all my discs out in the woods in stainless steel pots. One day in the distant future an archeological team may find them and I'll be an instant hit.

Wow I didnt realize that I had mispelled that word, so I fixed it.

There's several people who wish I would do that with mine. :D
