I have witnessed the RME Hamerfall at work with Logic.....outstanding performance and reliability.
I currently use the Lynx22......Excellent Converters....one of the best in PCI based cards.

I think a much fairer comparison would be the Digi002 rack, and the MOTU 828MKII + software, if your chosen platform is PC.
The 001 is a little old (and PCI) to be compared like this to the MOTU firewire unit. IMO..
