If There's A Program That I Download Off Torrent Site And It Has A Serial Number....

I'm very much in the 'copyright infringement != stealing' camp since no-one loses any physical property in this equation, however everyone has their own moral guidelines.

I don't have a moral guideline. I'm pretty sure I used to have, but I think I lost it at a party in the seventies.

Does anyone have one I could borrow? Or copy?

And some people just don't have any at all.

I think people with a penchant for rape, paedophilia and murder are the ones you should be worrying about in 'moral guidelines' terms.

I buy software if I can afford it, however I'm not going to deprive myself if I don't have the cash because no-one has lost any business at all. However I tend to find free or cheap solutions since there usually is one. For example I plan to buy Reaper shortly as the 30 day 'shareware period' coincides with my payday.

However I'd never steal someones physical property or intentionally damage something physical since it's often expensive or irreplaceable.

Suggesting I have no moral guidelines just sucks, to be honest. I'm always as nice to people as I possibly can be, I help out family and friends when they're in trouble, need help, or need a shoulder to cry on. I give a reasonable amount to charity considering my less than average wage and have given a lot of my free time recently to design and build a website for a local charity.

Also, I'd like to remind some people here that some of us do this for our own personal enjoyment. I don't make a single penny from recording or mixing, and trust me, when that day comes I'll be paying for every last thing I use, or getting rid of it. I would never ever consider using copied/pirated tools to make a profit, period.

I'm a believer that big business buys software and subsidises those who use it for personal use, and I'm fine with that since big business make their money from us.

Just take the time to examine the skeletons in your own closet before judging others.

As soon as pacman and P-J get their music up, I'm gonna put it on CDs and sell it. Maybe I'll put my name on it, too.

Because, you know, laws are confusing, and it's not physical property and all that.

once again you failed to comprehend (although you have stated you're retarded so I will not hold it against you) a simple point, which was...since there is no possible way for one to go through life without breaking laws and putting oneself at risk of having to slaughter a pig, then there is really no reason to pay attention to any law made by the government...I am governed by the laws of morality and there is such a thing as moral relativity, I do not commit acts that will hurt an entity which cannot afford it or does not deserve it, or those that have never attempted to hurt me.

There is a good reason to obey those laws. The government, whatever you want to say about them, still has the power and authority to cite you, fine you, and/or imprison you.

I would love to hear you tell that crap to a judge.

been there done that, sonny...that's an appropriate name for you when relating to a father figure such as myself.

Judges bleed just like everyone else, and I have no fear of some weirdo in a black robe, who's probably involved in homosexual extra-marital affair with the lead prosecutor who's threatens to not put out if the judge doesn't sustain his objections...they are the one's you should be pointing your finger at in terms of immorality...The Supreme Court are clowns, I don't abide by any of their decisions, they have destroyed the constitution and have not sustained civil liberties, they are the one's who need to be held accountable not poor kids who pirate your precious software you clown...now seckle down sonny.

If you write and record and mix and master a song, isn't it yours? If someone else uses it, don't they owe you? Software is someone else's property, just like your music is.

You don't need moral guidelines to make a judgement as to whether or not you are going to act lawfully or become a criminal.

Exactly. Moral people don't need laws.

I don't care what any of you do!Use cracked software.Makes no nevermind to me.
I don't even care if you steal my music.
I can't even give it away!

Ok. This guy isn't going to understand that stealing is stealing. We've called him retarded, immoral, etc, he has his own views and obviously will not sway from them. Serial's are not someone's personal serial they have posted on the web. A hacking company has figured out the algorithm that comprises the serial, they then create a program that will randomly generate a serial in an effort to trick the program into thinking it's real. The best thing to do then is to register the program that way you can reap all the benefits... The companies love it when you do this, so go ahead, make them happy.

Cracking usually stops the program for checking for something, in some cases a serial to validate the software. Either way there are risks involved. Some companies release spyware, trojans, or other malicious files just to screw with you. Cracked/Keygened programs tend to break easier, will not allow you to get support from the manufacturer, and hurt the industry at a whole. I'm assuming by your spelling and grammar skills that you are still a student of some sort, hopefully. Use the student discount websites out there, studica.com, journeyed.com, whatever, they offer software AND hardware at a pretty reasonable price. Hopefully that answers your questions and we can put an end to this redundancy. I in no way support your actions or encourage you to steal software online. It's dumb.

If you sold it, I'd sue the pants off you. If you shared it without profit (the same thing some of us do when we download software for personal use) I'd be glad.

You've totally missed the point of my post, either because you're just stupid or you didn't read it all. I'm not sure which.

Some people can have an interesting debate, you, on the other hand are just a waste of time.
