Hey X,

Love the lyrics, vocals, harmonies and piano on this one :). While I love the heavy drum sound itself, it seems a bit overpowering maybe given the rest of the arrangement?

Your harmonies are really very distinctive...after only a milisecond or so, it is instantly recognizable as being you. Cool. :)

I listened to the unplugged intro version a couple of times btw...

It's very you & that's an excellent start.
I really enjoyed this but even so wondered what it's be like with less or no drums.
your harmonies are spot on and a signature part of your sound.
Nice juxtaposition with the title & a terrific lyrical theme.

Try spreading drums over a wider soundfield - it's all hardly centered now - and I believe this will express the value of Your musical skills in a better way.

Otherwise, Nice 2 hear!

Very cool. The Piano is very fitting and played nicely. Expected something about them commies in there too. :D
 
Ok, checked out both versions this time...much more of a difference than I thought (not just the intro). Drums sound totally different.

The "full intro" version has perhaps better overall balance, but I much prefer the raw sound of the drums in the "unplugged intro" version - although I still find them to be a bit overpowering volume-wise. I also prefer the fact that the piano and other items join in a little later on this version as there is contrast here not found when everything is thrown in right from the start...your arrangements have so much going on - it's nice to have a simple intro like that imho....did I mention I love the piano??:D

Well, Mike,

I spread out the stereo field of the kit as you mentioned, but I went too far. One of the toms is in left field. Thanks for pointing that out to me as I really need your help and I'm so grateful for your time.

Yes your voice and your style are very distinctive. Beautifully executed, great lyrics...I simply can't find anything I don't like in the recording. The song is simply too powerful with its smooth velvet texture. Your talent really shines thru here! :)
