/dons flame suit.....:D

I've owned a 2350 and a roadster bass..... both sucked hard....

Apparently your experiences are out of the ordinary. Most of then are so-so...I rather like their Artcore line.

My 2350 had a G string that just would NOT stay in tune or intonate properly...
My Roadster was just twangy, flappy, string noise filled disappointment...

I had a satriani model from back when I was into metal...actually I still have it at my dad's house and haven't touched it in years. Maybe I'll dig it out and sell it. It was nice and sounded pretty good, but it just looked to weird.

I had an Iceman when I was 18. Action sucked, but it was a great beer opener!

I've owned 4 of them over the years and 2 of them were crap (one was a beginners so I give that one a pass).

1. The GX20 or whatever the fuck it is (strat copy HSS config), it was my first guitar and the frets shat out. No biggie though, I think we are talking a guitar that sold for $200 new.

2. Some sort of S model (it was like S300 something). This guitar made me vow to never own another floyd or floyd copy guitar. The bridge was a piece of shit. For a $500 axe it was a fucking nightmare and I couldn't get rid of it quick enough.

3. MMM1 baritone, played amazing actually didn't have the standard thin as shit ibanez neck and I threw some burstbucker pros inside. Body was a solid chunk of wood and I loved the neck through design. Not your average ibanez for sure.

4. An AX7221. People rag on these for some reason, but I think it's the reasons people hate them that I like them. My hands are big and I fucking can't stand the thin as shit necks that ibanez sticks on 90% of their instruments. The balance is a little off, but it's just a beater and fits the bill nice. Stays in tune, sounds good when you swap out the pickup and that's all I need in a guitar.

Have never liked them. Have a Gio which was my first guitar and is the only one I've kept over the years. I at one point bought an artcore because I was obsessed with hollow bodies...bought one used, managed to resell it for a $50 profit and then bought a used gretch. Also had a 7 string I got in a trade, can't remember the model, and boy did I hate it, horrible tone, and that was my introduction to a floyd rose...never again! Needless to say, I sold that one rather quickly as well.

To each his own as far as guitars go, but I just can't understand why people like them so much when you have better quality guitars from ESP as far as metal goes, and the low end gretch's are $150 more than an artcore. And their acoustics are just a little bit off price wise from some nice fender and low end martin acoustics.

Like I said, the generic ibanez guitars (which the S model I had pretty much fit in) that everyone seems to love I hate. Bolt on, thin as fuck necks, mediocre stock pickups, crappy body wood...

The MMM1 was a big solid chunk of wood with a 27" scale neck made for my big ass man hands. Loved it.

I've owned a few Ibanez guitars and liked them all.I've never had any their "metal" guitars.I had a SG copy and a hollow body in the 80's I wished I never got rid of.I presently own a Jet King I and a Ukulele by them, totally satisfied.

...I rather like their Artcore line.

I've had a couple of the Artcore models...AFS75T, which is the thinner body semi-hollow w/tremolo, and also an AG85, which is a wider but smaller body semi-hollow with a Bubinga wood finish.
I really liked both guitars, and I still have the AG85. It plays like butter, has that smaller body for an easy fit, and sounds great. The AFS75T I sold when I got a Hagstrom D2F w/tremolo, but I really wanted to keep it since it sounded so good...just needed to thin out some guitars.
The pickups they use on the Artcore line (at least on the ones I had) are very sweet sounding pickups. I was almost tempted to swap out and keep the ones on the AFS75T before I let it go...but decided to let the next guy have the stock setup.

I also have an Ibanaze Blazer bass from the late '70s....it kicks ass. It's strung up with fat flatwounds and has some great THUMP!

I had an Schecter classic from around ..... ummm 2005 or so and it was basically the same exact git as an Ibanez that was out at that time.
Most of these guitars are made in the same factories to the design specs of the company ordering them.
Cheapest ones in china/malyasia and more expensive ones in Korea/Tawain ......Samick makes the bulk of them.

The same thing with pianos ......a Wurlitzer piano? .... Samick ....... Baldwins? ...... Samick ...... There are a few exceptions ...... Steinway does still have an American division and I think Baldwin still makes some of their higher end pianos in America. (Ironically, personally, I prefer the Samick Baldwins to the American ones) .... but the vast majority of the pianos you see on the floor now are Samicks and then for the cheapest some chinese company .....maybe Young Chang although I think they make the better chinese stuff.

Anyways ..... when it comes to the differences between these import gits .... to a large degree the guitars quality depends on the ordering companys having strict oversight of the production process and making sure that quality control is in place.
If those factories over there see a lax company they'll absolutely take cost cutting steps in materials and workmanship.

I rather like their Artcore line.

I played an Artcore in a guitar shop when I wasn't even looking for another guitar and it's been my main gigging axe ever since. It's got a pleasingly gritty sound through my gear, but has a lovely responsiveness.

A bandmate back in my school days used to play one of the satriani-esque ones that had a random knuckle duster shape cut out of the body. That used to make my ears bleed. I seriously don't understand why anyone thought those things had a desirable tone.

........dons flame suit.....:D

all Ibanez guitars 'suck' like all blonds are dumb and all Irish are drunks. You don't need a flame suit; you need guitar lessons and a good guitar tech.
