listening to a lot of jack johnson? sounds good but you have to find your own thing.

well i'm a huge JJ fan, and i do think this sounds a lot like him, but that's all good because there's a lot of people who try like hell to sound like him (and i'm not saying you're one of them) and fail. this does sounds like something he'd write.

as you know, this recording quality is craptacular, but the song is cool and i think your voice sounds fine for it. that drum loop doesn't sound right for this song at all. it's good to keep your tempo, but it doesn't quite sound right with this feel of this. if you have other beats, or can program your own, i'd suggest making one yourself.

this song does sound a little long, and maybe it's the monotony of the the verses and choruses...they sound good together, but a little goes a long way.

anyway, i think this does sound cool. get yourself some cheap recording stuff and do this puppy some justice. i'd like to hear some of your other stuff if you have other tunes.

Yeah I wasn't setting out to write a jack johnson song, but it kind of just happened I guess. I wasn't living at home this summer and I had no recording gear except my computer with me so hopefully I will be able to do a better recording soon. I am going back to college in a few days and I know some people who I am hoping to start a band with and I think my songs will benefit from a full band (real drums, actual bass player, ect...). I wrote somewhere around 20 songs this summer so hopefully I will be posting some more stuff soon.

By the way I have been listening to your stuff on here for a couple of years and like it a lot. I finally picked up the bag of toys cd a week ago and I like it a lot. Keep it up!

also, thanks for grabbing the CD! damn nice of you. you liking it? we're actually headed into the studio in Nov-Dec to have our 2nd one ready by early spring. i'm just getting some of the pre-recordings going so we know a good tempo and what we're doing when we get in there. i'll probably post a tune or two in here just to see what i get back. we're going a little more reggae on this one...hopefully not too much, but i guess we'll see.

Yeah I like the CD a lot. I've been trying to show it to some other people too, because I think it's real good. I'd love to hear some of the new stuff when you have it and I'll definitly hit you up when I get my stuff together.

As a musician/drummer, i have to say that you should try to play closer to your rhythm machine... Sometimes you´re too off...
Work on that and everything will sound a lot better...
I can hear some good ideas!
