You're gonna have to spend a good 800-1000 bucks or more to get a good reverb unit that's quiet. I'm using a Lexicon MPX-500 and LXP-15 and getting good results. I patch into them from the AUX buss and back into spare channels on the console so I can EQ the effect. This will also help with any extra noise.

Reverb is like salt. Too much or not enough, and you spoil the taste. I HATE dry mixes. Life has reverb, why not your music?
