I want to physically use faders.

I'm 20. I use analog.

Were not all morons, you know. :p

Mixer control surfaces always seemed a bit of a waste of money to me, anyway. You're essentially paying for the (admittedly wonderful) pleasure of knob-twiddling; money that could go toward some nice monitors or a new condenser mic, or anything else which would actually improve your sound quality.

As far as I can tell, you're paying for the pleasure of being able to control two or more knobs/sliders at once. Take a look around - a lot of people admit to finding it much more fluid and 'hands on' than using a mouse. If being able to control the mix spontaneously aids personal creativity to the timeline, then it could be said that it's as important as sound quality.

What's that computer on the left for? Surfing p0rn during coffee breaks?
No, its for dumbing down Analog to CD 16bit for pressing and distribution to ...well, lets just say less than analog enlightened.

Well, you said it, not me. :)
Rick, cut out the abuse on the newbs board or you'll get another vacation from posting.
Since when is telling the truth "abuse"? As to the vacation...be my guest. Like MAKE MY DAY! Oh, and let me apologize for hurting the OP's little feelings.

.....NOT.

Dieter Doepfer has made some interesting stuff that nobody seems to talk much about. If you go his site http://www.doepfer.de/home_e.htm and click on "products" at the left you can see some his devices, kits and parts.

He used to sell these, but they are sold out:

Maybe you're hoping to hurt someone's feelings, eh? Perhaps that will make you feel more 'controversial'...

I would say going all-analogue, when digital recording is much more accessible to the masses - is a big decision, isn't it? At least, in this day and age, it's going to have to be quite a deliberate move. Good for you that you're keeping analogue alive.

The question pertains to control surfaces for digital mixing. In what way do you think mocking someone for not using analogue equipment is helpful?

Let's put it another way: Do you find it helpful to you, to say these things? :D

I feel like I've just stumbled into the flat earther's discussion group.

There's a thousand jokes just waiting to be cast courtesy of the "Pocket Fader".

Are you happy to see me or are your faders @ +6?:o

How come every time I post something the whole thread goes right down the tubes to fuckin' silly?

That's it, I'm going home.

Pocket fader looks great... It would compliment my special recording helmet, ideal for capturing those moments of inspiration whilst protecting me from injury, should I thrash uncontrollably. Pocket fader brings with it a new level of control...

Nice oscilloscope.

You mean like they've been doing for some odd 50 years?:p Well, you could use what the pro's have been using all that time..its called a MIXER.:D Of course, anyone younger than 25 doesn't have a clue what ANALOG is...or how much fun it is. And how easy it is. And how much better it sounds...oh, wait a minute..I forgot. You all listen to MP3's anyway...so you wouldn't know quality if you heard it.

A lot of people can't afford to shell out for reels and reels of tape. They're busy paying their taxes with that money.
