I think this turned out well.. or AM I SMOKING KRAK?

Ok, thanks everyone who took the time to listen to my submission to the HRC. I really appreciate everyone's feedback and all your comments were very welcome. Thank you very much.

I know there will probably be more submissions coming down the pipe but I can't wait till the 30th to get back to business as usual and learning about fruity loops and velocity sensitive keyboards, etc.. so anyway..

This I think turned out pretty good for me, I had the easiest time mixing it, it fit the cliche "the song will mix itself" which I didn't understand until now. I made almost zero adjustment to levels because it almost never seemed to clip on me.

Perhaps because I have substantial hearing loss in the upper end of my frequency spectrum I may have gaps in my mix, and maybe that I'm really undershooting my headroom. If anyone notices these types of things id be greatful for any advice and how I might learn to avoid these in the future (spectral analysis hardware, software, etc..)

The song is called Komnetec

"Krak"? - sounds kind of like those generic knock-offs that always start with 'K'. You know: like a big yellow and black box of "Bargain Kokaine..."

I digress...

It sounds a little boomy on the low end (the song, not the rock). And I'd like the vox to have their own space a little more. The mids area seems a touch cluttered. Also, I could swear I hear the drums clipping here and there - not super noticably, just a little.

It would certainly make a big difference with this kind of tune to have real drums - or at least heavier samples. Those drums sound kinda thin - especially compared to the monster heaviness of everything else.

Hey man tune is ok! Liked everything: melody, vocals, drums, guitars etc.

The only thing I'd complain is the sound of bass guitar. It's hard to be specific, but something is yet to be improved imo.

Cheers!
