I think its time to buy a new mic stand :)

I just got a new shure ksm27 condenser mic(which I'm in love with) and because of my flimsy boom stand its fallen 3 times already into walls, my bass, floor. hehe

its well made, I can say that.. not a scratch on it(yet)

On Stage SB96 PLUS (about 70$) at guit-arrgh center. A heavy duty boom good for high overheads. I use Solid Tube, C3, and NTK, all fairly hefty mics, and have had nary a problem with it.-Richie

Or just use a cheapo cast iron base stand with a couple of free weights droped over the post. Works like a champ, and stays put.

Jplush- Please note that the nice people here take their time to try and help you. In exchange, you should help to expand our apparently limitless knowledge (just kidding). So what did you do, and how did it work?-Richie
