Now that I got your attension.
896HD Monitoring Chain

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey People/professionals/recording enthusiasts/spammers...lol
I have recently acquired a Motu 896hd and I also use a behringer headphone amp (which sounds better than any Grace HiFi headphone amp..not really)
Anyway, I need to use the stereo out on my Motu to use into the Beringer for monitoring on headphones while recording. The Behringer has a direct out right beside the in that isn't supposed to do anything whatsoever to the signal. So again, 896HD to Behringer headphone distro amp out to Mackie 624s.
No, I can't hear for myself. Is this likely to change my signal in a way that will make my mixing and eqing suffer? What do yall think?

Also is recording at 192 stupid? I don't even know how to dither from there. How does one record at 48 and dither to 44.1

Eh?..

I think you should probably be the only one who can answer that question. Also, I think you are the one who can answer the question about the high resolution. I mean for me, 44.1 works. YMMV.
However having a good pre with 44.1 should be good enough. And please don't ask about what 'good' pre means. That is like telling you what the absolute best flavor of ice cream is.

Your reply doesn't count Spork, it didn't occur in the proper timeframe.

Don't worry, it happens...

You don't need to fake an act of hatred to get your word out on these forums

i think with a headline like that...we shouldnt dignify him with any logical answer.
