Can anyone tell me how the pres on the Alesis Studio 24 stack up against other pres?

I've had one for a while and I'm not really looking to replace it, but the only things I have to compare it to are an Art Dual MP and the pres on my old tascam 4-track.

I'm curious how they are reputed to sound compared to other pres. Any pres, really, not just mixer pres.

I have an Alesis 24 that I use with my Digi001 set-up. In my main studio, I have a Mackie 32-8. Frankly, the pres on the Studio 24 are comparable, (maybe even more transparent) than the Mackie. However, I use an Avalon mic pre in the main studio and there is obviously no comparison here. The Avalon is the clear winner.

The mic pres on the Digi001 seem to be a little better than the pres on the Studio 24 for certain things like vocals. However, depending on the mic, it is hard to tell the difference when micing an acoustic guitar.

My opinon is that they are as good as any mic-pre that you will find in the standard home-studio quality board, and better than some.
