are there any good books on mixing that you know of?
I thought I had some idea about how to do it but I just realized that's not the case

There's one called The Mixing Engineer's Handbook...there's a 2nd edition. By Bobby Owsinski.

Has some big raps.

Keep on truckin'

Honestly, stupidfatandugly...Like I said in the other thread, you`re over-thinking things. Just record some instruments, don't let them peak past zero for now***, press PLAY, and start miving faders up and down. You need to use your ears. No book will help you with that, and there isn`t any magic formula you'll learn about.

***( I know. I`m not telling him to record as hot as possible, just trying to get him off the internet and behind a desk mixing, which is where he should be spending more of his time.)
