ok so i can never get a clear answer when i search for stuff so i might as well just swallow my pride.... what the hell is a patchbay, and why would i realy need one?? thanks..be nice

Basically, a patch bay takes all your various ins and outs from your gear, and puts them all in the same place. This way its all there in a convinient place when you want them. For example - you want to patch in a compressor, instead of having to mess around getting to the back of the prossesor or desk etc, you just having it all set up into the patch bay ready, and do all you 'patching' from there. Thats probably all youll need to know right now.

so is it just for organization purposes? and or just convienence

Both...... it certainly wouldn't be fun reaching around behind racks of gear every time you want to connect or route something somewhere!

But but it goes way beyond convenience. Not having to crawl around behind a rack to change a patch, having all patching that would ever need to be done no more than a foot or two apart is WAY more than convenient.

cool, so how does it actualy work, i saw somthin with a A and B?
