I recorded these yesterday, one song is still processing and should be up shortly.

I graduated last spring with a contemporary music performance degree, but i learned classical and a bit of jazz too.

check it out.

This is pretty far out of my realm, but I'm going to take a stab at it. I listened to all four tracks, but admittedly did not get the appropriate listening level 'til the third track (Julia Florida, which I liked best). So I had to go back and listen again to the first two.

I think the recording is done pretty well. It sounds very close and personal, but maybe just lacking a little ambience (or room effect...whatever you want to call it). There are certain times, when strumming or plucking out a string, that seem to jump out a little too much or not enough. Such as some of the low plucked strings in Usher Waltz seem to jump out just a little too much --and the strumming seems a little overdriven/muddy (a little too hot maybe?). However, take that with a grain of salt, as I have no idea of the desired dynamic/sound on pieces such as this.

I enjoyed listening to this very much. Classical guitar continues to mystify and elude me :) Congratulations on your education, keep playing like this and it will certainly take you anywhere you want to go with guitar.

yeah...i tried to back away from the mics during the loud parts...i thought i soundchecked well.

it is a very avant garde piece, so it's supposed to be ugly in places. haha. thanks for listening

I´m a guitarrist too, but more in a "eletric" way...
and when I listen something as your songs (I hear all the 4, it´s impossible to hear only one  ),
I think in all the things I have to learn ...

congratulations, what more can I say?

Venez... sounds really good - there are a few buzzes and a very occasional fluff but the performance is really nice. Not being familiar I can't say whether some of the hesitations are as written, interptreted on just reality but they come off pretty well.
Stereo image is pgood thouigh seemed a little R biased to me - but then my hearing is stuffed so take no notice.

you hear all the 4?

and are you saying i'm out of tune on the 3rd song. yeah, slightly. my D string is a worn and its wounds are tearing away. i sharpened it, and it just didn't work, so i just tried to vibrato it out where it's worn .

Nice - the playing is very good and the recording is clear and clean with nice tones from the guitar.

No problems from what I can hear....good job....

Can you give us some recording method details?

:D :) :D :)

right! sorry...

ldc and sdc are in a stereo figuration pointing at around the 13th fret. no hole boominess, and no eq'ing the highs to compensate because the small diaphragm condenser sweetened it.

there's no eq and a light LIGHT amount of compression and reverb. but hardly much. i didn't want to lose the tone i got but mucking it up with plugins.
