Until recently I have been doing this: Guitar - Amp - Behringher Compressor - Tascam 488 line input... I have just been using my compressor for bass.
I know there is a more 'proper' way hooking up my compressor via the insert points on the front of my 488. I just cannot remember what cable i need. I know it has a split in it. Also i cant seem to find anywhere that sells these split cables. Is there a proper name for this lead i should be asking for? or looking for on turnkey or studiospares (online UK stores).
I want to try recording vocals with compression and limiting. (until now, the compression has come while mixing down, via the send/return effects loop with a multi effects processor - it seems the true purpose of my stand alone compressor is being wasted on me)
Whats that lead? How does it actually compress the signal when im recording on track 1 or 8 via XLR mic input 1?
Thanks for any help.
