I mean, I knew this thing was good when I heard stuff done with it on the net, but I did not know it was this good.

A friend of mine spent $3600 on the 88 key version and I got to play with it. First of all, that thing is about twice as deep as a roland xv88 keyboard, and very huge. It looks like a veritable beast.

Playing with it, the low end is mad big. THe patterns are nice, the sound is sweet. THe piano patches blow away the roland and triton( not the kurzweil though)

In short, this thing is a beast.

Don't remind me. I'm still trying to justify buying the Motif. I'm waiting until I see it on sale for a good price then I will buy it. It's just about the best synth I've ever played. 100 % musical.

The new Yamaha S90 looks good too....it has a triple-strike piano sample and an 88-note weighted keyboard that is supposed to be very good.

that's what i told everyone to begin with... nobody listens :(

FYI to anyone of you guy's gettin ready to slap down on a motif 8.
Musicians Friend is throwin in a phat $400 road case with the motif 8 for free.
I just got my mo 8, a week ago locally. so I missed out.
WideAwake, what do you consider a good price ?Everyone has the 8 for $2399.
But with some creative bargaining at your local shop you should be able to get it between $2100 and $2200.
Go for it ,you won't regret it!

I just want the Motif 6. I don't know what a good price is, it keeps changing everytime I'm in the stores. $1600 maybe....that's what I saw it at a few weeks ago, but when I went back to buy it a few days later it was back to $1900 and they wouldn't negotiate much.

I will buy it. It's the first keyboard I've played in years that I can't live without. I will also buy the AN expansion board. :)

did you hear that subtractor?? the AN expansion board ... nobody listens to me...

Cool WideAwake! If you don't need the 88keys you can save some serious dough.
I can't remember the thread but the author listed the motif @$1450 being the lowest out the door price on the 6,that retailers can go down to.
A client of mine has the 6,and I was so turned on by the sounds and versatility of his motif that I went shopping.
For about 3-hours I went back and forth between a loaded K2600 and the 8. Action on the 8 tipped the scales.
Chriss,some listen.
Sjoko2 was raving about this board almost a year ago too!
