You need to know how much cheddar you got to spend!

If you doing everything by yourself, your basic requirements are:

1)-A good mic.

2)-Either multi-tracking/mixing software if rec'ding to p.c. or a multi-track stand-alone w. board.

3)-Pair of active or passive, flat response monitors dependant on your amplification situation.

4)-Possibly a dynamic processor (compressor) to control and level your strong vocs.

5)-A "Beat Machine" such as the MPC (unless U got your own beats or are using p.c. based software like Fruity Loops)

6)-Some modicum of talent.

and

7)-Patience!

1st off, what's your cash-flow look like?
