I have a VS-880 that has a 1GB jaz drive in it. I tried connecting it to my PC using the scsi port and it ended up messing up the jaz disk. I've tried using the repkit utilitiy but it wont work. now i can't access the disk at all. i've tried formatting it w/ the VS880. does anyone know what i can do? or do I need to buy a new jaz disk?

thanks.
Bruce.

JAZ DRIVES

Get rid of the Jaz drive....they are nothing but a pain in the butt.A friend of mine and I had alot of trouble with the Jaz (he lost one completed song,I lost a whole disc).I hear that they are not good to record on directly, but ok to archive on; I know I will never trust one again.I also heard that, for a while at least,Roland was taking the old internal jazz drives back because of locking up problems, and sending not only the new (at the time) 1 gig drive, but an external jazz for your trouble.I just got the new Orb drive, and it works great.I got it from Memorymedia for $148.00 with a cartridge, which is 2.2 gigs! It's an external SCSI,and works great with the Roland (they endorse it).
