I know this is a home recording board! I don't know of anywhere else on the net I could post this so here I go. I'm going to the local music store 2maro but I wan't to see tonight about it.

If I get a DMX1210 http://www.americandj.com/product.asp?ProductIDNumber=1229&cat=DMX_Controllers can I plug normal wall plugs from 46-Par cans? Is that what 2 x 8 pin dins is? Can I run a 5-pin xlr straight to a EUROLIGHT LC2412 http://www.behringer.com/LC2412/index.cfm?lang=eng ? Will I be able to use all the functions w/ the mixer with this combo if possiable? Do I need anything to use the dimming function?

You've got the right idea but it doesn't look those will interface. The controller needs to send a DMX signal to the power pack. XLR is one of the most common ways of doing that but there are many proprietary schemes using DIN cables.

A DIN cable looks like a midi cable and has a certain number of pins. That controller sends on a 5 pin DIN and the power pack receives on a 8 pin DIN. That power pack also uses the more universal XLR but the Behringer doesn't. You might be able to use the analog connectors that look like a serial cable but I'm not sure if the power pack accepts them.

Your best bet is to find a controller and power pack that both use XLR. It's more universal and you can interface with bigger systems easier. It's also a lot cheaper when you have to run a long cable from the controller to the power pack because the power pack will be up in the truss while the controller is down on the floor.
