I'm using A windows pc, windows 7 os, adobe audition 3.0, and record through an m-audio mobile-pre usb preamp. So...here's the problem. I have all of my output drivers set to play through the m-audio unit, however, everything played back sounds like crap! For example, if I play a track using, say, windows media player...the track sounds great. However, if I play the track in audition, the sound seems a bit amplified, and of course, therefore, VERY MUDDY. The worst part is that if I export the file, it is rendered with the amplified/muddy sound when played in another media player. If I can figure this out, I'll be off to making music again. Please help>?!?
