I need help recording more than 2 tracks

ok, i just bought a cheap 99.00 tascam 4-track tape recorder, everything works good, except i cant get all 4 tracks to play when the tape is put into a stereo. i can hear them through the head phones and i made sure i panned them accordingly. what do i do?

You cannot play a 4 track tape on a 2 track (i.e. stereo) tape deck. You have to mix the four tracks down to stereo by sending the output from the 4 track recorder to the stereo recorder. Alternatively, if you have any sound recording software, you could send the 4 track output to your computer and then burn to CD.

You need another device to "mix" to. You'll never get a tape made on a multitrack cassette to play in a normal cassette player. As a matter of fact, if you take the tape from the 4 track and turn it over it'll play two of the tracks you could hear before BACKWARDS.
