I need help producin' beats...

can you give me sum help on doing beats ???

Or a sampler. Or, best of all, a sampling drum machine. Or software that does the same things, like fruity loops.
 
I have a keyboard, fruity loops, cool edit, and acid...

I was just wondering whut kind of drum machine i should get, for around $300...

and i already produce beats, but i'm looking to get better,

do you start with the drums when u do a beat or what ???

Start with what you like. If it's a good drum pattern, start with that, if its a good baseline, start with that, if it's a good sample, start with that, if it's a good chord progression, start with that. There are no finished solutions.

Listen closely to things you like, and try to figure out why they are good, and try to replicated them. You'll learn a lot.
