ok, so im recording a cd. its kind of an acoustic/emo solo thing. im recording into a TASCAM ministudio (porta 02 mk II) and it records to a cassette tape. im running into two problems.
the first has to do with my computer, after i record the tracks i need to put them into my computer and get them into the programs i have, but when im recording from the studio into the computer it skips a whole lot. i even restart my computer and shut down anything un needed before i do this. why is it doing it and how can i prevent it.
the second one has to do with the TASCAM. the tape hiss. why is it so annoying and how can i get rid of it. i need anything that will help me from little tips and tricks to computer programs that will help get rid of it. please
i really need help guys.....please

All the 0- series portas are hissy, they were not ment for critical applications, thay have no noise reduction, they were ment to be a notepad just to audition an idea to other band members or to just record an idea that you might have. Years ago the DBX co used to make an outboard post noise reduction system for audiophiles. Might look for one of these.
