I need help choosing an interface/mixer!!

Ok so I am looking into interfaces and Mixer/Interfaces. I am planning on starting to record covers, new material, etc on drums, and I want good quality so obviously I am looking into recording equipment. I know what mics and software I am getting and have already started to purchase some. My issue is I need help choosing an Interface or Mixer/Interface. I know I want one with atleast 8 XLR inputs for mics so I can have a good amount of drum mics set up. I have 2 in mind and i need help figuring which I should go for and why.

Next is the Behringer X2222USB 22 Ch Mixer/ Interface http://www.pssl.com/images/ProdImage01/500/X2222USB.jpg

Also if i got the mixer will it power PA's? I have a powered mixer already that I power PA's and guitar cabs with, but if this mixer will do that I will get rid of mine.

I just want some opinions on what is the difference and which would be a better buy. Thanks!!

If you want to record each of the drum mics on a separate channel, then go with the Tascam, the Behr is a mixer and will mix everything down to a stereo 2-channel signal to the computer via USB. The Behr is an UNPOWERED mxer, as would be any other mixers in that price range. Means you have to use power amps or powered speakers.

I would say to keep your PA gear and recording gear separate. Go with the Tascam. It's rock solid. How does your computer setup look? What software do you plan to use? Just curious.

I just recently got a brand new Sony Vaio vpcEB47GM/BJ that is specifically going to be used for my music and my other laptop is just for regular web surfing. I am going to be using Pro Tools most likely
