. . . that I can use WAV samples with . . . for drums. I want to create my own loops, beats, etc. If you know of a sequencer that uses GREAT natural sounding drum samples (for rock or metal), I can deal with it if it doesn't use WAV samples. So far I've only found good WAV samples for natural sounding drums.

Personally, I don't like Fruityloops. Is there anything else out there that is fairly inexpensive?

Please make sure the sequencer is EASY to use. I currently use an Alesis SR-16 drum machine, and I like the results. But if I can simplify things even futher with a software based drum machine, I would love that.

Not sure I understand your question. Are you looking for software based drum sounds based on WAV samples that you can drive with MIDI input?

Acid free version for using wavs apparently (got it recommended the other day, will be trying it out soon) ... although I like Fruity Loops. Your question is a little confused though.

I'm basically looking for software that I can create drum patterns/loop with. I have a bunch of WAV samples, but I'd like a simple program to use them with. I have no MIDI controller, so I will have to use my mouse.

Does any of that help?

I downloaded that Jazzware stuff, and it is a little prehistoric. Maybe I downloaded the wrong program.

What was the deal with that Acid free suggestion? I have Acid Pro 4.0.

I dunno much about Acid, but I answered this question recently and got suggested Acid and FLoops, which I borrowed off a friend and am enjoying.

It doesn't get much cheaper or simpler then Fruity Loops. What do you want to do that FL can't handle?

I want to use my WAV samples in Fruity Loops. I might be really dumb, because I can't figure out how to do that.

I downloaded the nskit stuff to use with Fruity Loops, and I can't figure out how to do it.

The sounds Fruity Loops comes standard with SUCK bad! I have Fruity Loops 3.4.

I hate it when people call these sample players "Sequencers". A sequencer outputs MIDI or CV/Gate signals! I guess I'm getting old. :p

it's easy. click on the part you want to change the sample for, and in the window for that where it says the .wav filename, click the folder icon and browse to your file.

:) The terminology is all messed up in my head anyway ... I'm not sure many really know the difference!!!
