I am currently running Pro Tools with the Digi 002. I want a killer preamp that comes with compression and eq. I do mostly rock music. I need it for vocals and Micing rock guitar. I would like to spen no more than 500-700$. I don't care if it's used or new. Helpppppp? Thanks.

The Joemeek OneQ deserves a listen, the "iron" switch onboard turns that clean preamp into a somewhat heavier sound giving you some versatility. The EQ is very nice (4 band) and the comp is typical Joemeek flavored optical.

You may be able to find a used Toft ATC-2 for $700. They're $1K new. Plus it's a dual channel unit.

You are hardly going to get a killer preamp for $500 to $700; nonetheless, one with compression, or eq, and definitely not both.

Actually, you could come pretty close if you were to buy a used Symetrix 528, and send it to Jim Williams at Audio Upgrades and have him work some of his magic on it. When you get it back, it will be pretty killer.

actually an outstanding preamp is the DAV BG-1 and it is 700 bucks. no comp or eq, but you painted a broad stroke with that statement.
