Be honest. Constructive criticism welcome! Don't worry, you won't make me cry :D

This began as a simple test of my new toys, and... well... spiraled out of control...

I'm not even sure the download was successful.. phucking dial-up!

no tears (fixed... I think...)

cd--is that you singing? The vocals rip!!! Consequently, I'd say that they need to be higher in the mix. The bass was a little boomy on my speakers, so maybe bring that down a touch. That being said, the bass sounds awesome on those E notes just the way it is...maybe just the other notes were hitting the mix a little hard.

The song is repetitive, and I didn't get tired of it for a second. That's hard to pull off. Just a great droning feel to the whole thing. Have I mentioned how cool the singing was?

The dial up *might* have cut some parts off, so I'm not sure if I heard the whole thing (or if an abrupt ending was intentional).

Good to finally hear some of your stuff, this was cool as hell!

It was not supposed to end suddenly...
damnit!

Yes, very repetitive. I could not find a suitable change for it, and gave up...

Shit, can I just upload it again?
I guess you probably get the gist of it anyway...

Thanks for listening. The bass IS probably way too loud. I always misjudge that. Thanks especially for the positive comments...

Well, the guitar tone is cool. Fits what you described as a tone you liked to get. This is with the new toys, no amp? I like the drudgey feel. Sounds like shit I do. Only complaint is vocals are too quiet. I'd like to hear them more.

Song stopped at 3:38. Seemed abrupt. Was it supposed to?

Anyway, some elements of AIC. I like it dude. You were worried about nothing. You just blew my latest tune out of the water. A beer to ya.

Ed

Cheers right back at you, thanks!

I'm attempting to upload it again in its' entirety.
This could take a while.
How do I get a hold of NL5 to tell him to delete the original?

Good stuff, man of the dank and dark!
I also liked the drone - it set off the vocals, which I agree seemed too far back under everything else. You've got a great voice (or an okay voice and a KILLER mic ...... joking), and it commands attention....
I was listening on cruddy speakers, but the overall volume seemed pretty low. I usually wind up yelping and quickly turning down the volume on the lightning mp3 stuff, but I wanted to really crank this one! I'll try a headphone listen too, and see if that makes the difference....
I liked the song, and I enjoyed hearing your stuff - thanks!

Hey cd, how 'bout a remix with dem vocals turned up? (then you've got an excuse to post the whole thing! :D ) I wanna hear this, dammit!

Try that one... {I think I fixed it}

Geesh, don't you just hate amatuers :D

*EDIT* The link above (fixed) appears to be the entire song, though I have neither the patience nor time to wait this out... right now...

Appears to be the whole thing, you amateur you. From the sounds of it, you captured a good vocal sound. Fits the drony feel of the song well. What mic, pre were you using?

The background was a Senn e845 (borrowed) which gave HORRIBLE sibilance to my already sibilant voice. The more prominent vox were through a spb1. Both went through dmp3.

Someone made mention of putting a piece of gum between your top teeth... I'm considering it... {for sibilance}... though with my natural state of grace I would choke to death on it...

My wife even called me out on it, she says I "have an unusual amount of accentuation on syllables, especially 's' ".
It appears she is once again correct!

It bugs the shit out of me....

I REALLY need to take my ass to bed now...

Cheers one final time for the evening!!!

Over all, I like it. Mix wise, the drums have to come up, maybe just the snare. It's hard to tell. I love the octave/unison on the vox. VERY cool. Guitars are nice and thick. Again, I just want stronger drums to glue it together.

I like the way the vocals and guitar tone combine and think there's a good mix balance there. Agree that the drums could come up just a little. Bass sounds great on my system.

The coolest thing I'm hearing in it is the similarity in the vocals and overall feel of the piece with some of the darker Gregorian Chant. All it needs is a verse in Latin. Very cool.

dont know much bout mixing but i like the song, only i would change the drumrhythm /patern to give it some xtra groove
