I have an electric bass wich im recording direct in to my omni studio interface and the sound just aint good in a previous post ive been told to get atleast a cheap di for my bass now can a di for the bass be any good on my 12 string acoustic guitar or should i get one specifically for acoustic guitar?, or is there one out there that would work for both i havent seen any ive searched ebay zzounds and more theres always just one for each any suggestions would really help and thanks for all the previous help you people have given me :)

Well there are many options to choose from and its kind of subjective so you'll really have to look around and listen to different models then select one that suits your ears and your needs better than any of the others so you will be content with your investment and won't have to buy another one for a while as far as the acoustic guitar thing goes does the acoustic guitar you are going to be recording have a pickup if not then you'll need to mic it up instead of di'ing it good luck willis

Cheap DIs really do sound like cheap DIs. Look around for a used Countryman if you can find one. Built like a tank and great sounding. IF you spend $200 on a DI from radial engineering it will be an investment that you will still be using in 15 years.

as for the second part about DI-ing a 12 string acoustic..dont. DI is the worst way to record almost any guitar. Use a mic.
