Yup, I'm up in San Francisco for the next two weeks, running sound for a Fringe Festival show. After a 3 day drive up here, in 100 degree+ weather (with no A/C in our old RV), the cool weather is a welcome change.

Looking forward to the next few weeks. Seven two-hour shows over the next two weeks, so lots of free time to ride cable cars and explore. I'm actually in San Leandro (at an RV Park), but no car, so it's buses and BART every day. Kinda neat.

Sounds like fun. You'll have to let us know if there are any noteworthy bands.

San Fran is a wild city, but don't call it Frisco! The natives don't like that.

If you get a chance, there a really cool tapas bar over in the Haight called Cha-Cha-Cha. Great food.

I'm envious. I haven't been there since an AES convention a few years back.

I think I'm going to this year's AES in San Francisco, which means I'll drive back to Texas, then drive back here to S.F. a week later.

Jesus I wondered why there were so many tourists around here recently. Can't wait for tourist season to end!

If you make it down to the Castro neighborhood...be sure and give Buck a visit. :D

did you see any homosexuals?

damn did Ray put his dick in his mouth on that one?

Harvey, Ray needs a nice bright Rainbow t-shirt to help curb his homophobia.

Wish I'd read this a few hours ago. I just came through SF on BART, back home to Sunnyvale from buying a piccolo trumpet in Oakland.... :)

Dont put that piccolo near your mouth...you dont know where its been...LOL

godamnit it took me an extra half hour to get back from my session. Fucking fringe festival fuck off. Can't wait until this job ends so I can get outta here. Don't play that piccolo too much, it's best to stay on the b-flat or C and only play on the piccolo when you need to prepare and perform a piece with it. What the hell does sweetnubs not know my friends!

Don't worry about it he's German, they are about the most perverted lot on the planet except for maybe the Japanese. Two of the most repressed hence most perverted countries I've had the great pleasure of visiting on this great big blue marble of ours, god bless 'em I say!

I dont see how I put my "dick in my mouth"? I was just curious if he saw any homosexuals. It was just a question, where is the harm?I probably have more gay friends than anyone on this board(well, maybe not more than the homosexuals on this board).

Good for you! Do you live in the castro district? Wife and I went out with a gay friend of ours last night, who is also from the bay area. (went to an opera, go figure  :D )

Im not german! I am American! I am perverse also!

:D

Well, the gay population is pretty large in the Bay area and more open about it, so, yeah, I did see some gay guys and gay couples. I don't consider it any big deal. It's kinda hard to be in the music business on the Left Coast and not see any people who are into alternate life styles.

Be sure and stop by Mamas' Royal Cafe, Broadway and 41st in Oakland.

Best breakfast in the entire Bay Area.

Say hi to Phil Lesh and Wavy Gravy for me if you run into them! :D

We have a 3 day break, so we're heading North to visit my sister in Arcata.

Wow, Phil Lesh and Hugh Romney (Wavy Gravy); two old friends I haven't seen in a lotta years.

It's kinda hard to get around up here in a 22' motor home, so we're dependent on the bus and BART system for rides.

I'll look for you at AES Harvey. I think I'm gonna go on Friday so I can catch "The Abby Road Sound - 75 Years in the Making" presentation.
If you want to hook up with Hugh, he's just back from the east coast, and back in Laytonville for Earth Dance. You're gonna drive right by there going to and from Arcata.

Enjoy your visit!
