re:
Well I know the process of mixing on Cool Edit Pro and little on Cubasis. But he was telling me it's the same. So I can handle the software stuff. He has stuff like keyboards and effects boxes. But I am just interested in rapping over a beat (a wav file). That's basically what we did. But we got a nice clean and practically professional result at his place. So I was thinking since I got lots of things similar it wouldn't be too much to get the same results. All I really need is some headphones. Currently I just plug my mic in the mackie and transfer it to the Live Drive Mic In 2 also known as "Line In 2". I don't own much software. I got Sound Forge, Cool Edit, Cake Walk 9, Cubasis. I'm just saying since I seen what Cubasis can do, I sorta want to get in to it. I don't own any midi gear or a synth. I'm not worried about making beats just want to record clean vocals (which I can get already). And mix it well. He was adjusting the vocal volume level through the mixer. Where for me currently I record it in (using low pre amps) then amp it. But then I don't get a consistent result. If you need more info I'll reply again.
